Appointing a new Pastor!

On Saturday 3rd September 2011 we welcomed Mark and Laura Rapley at a special service to appoint Mark as a Pastor of RBC.

This wonderful event was a milestone in our history. The church family enjoyed hearing Mark's thoughts on becoming part of the Eldership team here at RBC, plus we heard a short history of the leadership from Bob Last, one of our Elders. David Levell, Pastor of Pantiles Baptist Church, Tunbridge Wells gave the message. Here are the highlights in pictures and words...

"Wesley sat us down to explain the church's situation. I probably looked like a rabbit caught in headlights as it was totally unexpected."

"We eagerly anticipate this new phase in the life of RBC. We believe that Mark will bring fresh challenges to us. Throughout the past few years we have been searching for a suitable man to succeed Wesley, we have been seeking God’s will and purpose in all of this and we thank our Lord for bringing Mark to us."

"At a meeting on 1st July 2010 the Church Members enthusiastically took the decision to ask Mark to be the Pastor of the Church after Wesley retires.  In the meantime Mark and Wesley will be working as Pastors together."
